Chapter 18

Now it's Bildad's turn to share.

This chapter was very hurtful.  It seems that Bildad's compassion is long gone.  Now he's just being mean!

Reflection Question:
-If you met Job on the street today, and you had 1 minute with him, what would you say?

  1. This chapter made me angry. What a bunch of crap. First the God that I know is not a vengful God. The good do not always triumph and the evil do not always suffer. Sometimes they even win in our world. The God I know is a merciful, loving, caring God. He has answered my prayers in very concrete ways. What would I say to Job? "Your troubles are not from God. God loves you very much."

  2. I agree Bev, "good"doesn't always win in or world, and I think you even commented in an earlier post that most people don't go through life without ever questioning God or his plan at some point. I certainly have had many questions and even some doubts, but isn't that part of the journey of our item faith? I have no idea what I would say to job....I do know I wouldn't bicker with him like these so called friends of his. Who am I to say he has no right to question what has happened to him.....his life has been turned upside down. Its not always easy, but keep fighting Job. Keep the faith.

  3. Excellent thoughts! I love what the two of you would share with Job.
