Chapters 21 and 22

Hey friends!  I fell a day behind.  Sorry about that!  Thanks for sticking with it.  :)

Chapter 21 -
Job is continuing to process what's going on around him.  He's hurting and frustated.  It seems he's asking, "Why do great things happen to wicked people while terrible things are happening to me?"

Chapter 22 -
Eliphaz is NOT being a good friend!  Did you notice verse 5?  He tells Job there is no end to his sin and wickedness.  Ouch!

  1. We are reading "The Year of Living Biblically" by A.J. Jacobs for book club this month. At the end of day 82 on page 114 he sounds just like Job in Chapter 21. He even talks about him. The wicked do not suffer and the good people do. Elipaz seems to know alot about what wickedness Job has been up to. How does he know? With friends like this who needs an enemy?

  2. I think in Ch 21 Job is feeling things that many many people have struggled with for decades...why do bad things happen to good people ? and people who don't always live by the rules, seem to get by with no consequence. It made me think of the classic 80's song from Billy Joel..."only the good die young". A fun tune but a powerful message, why was my niece killed in a car accident when she was 14 ? A beautiful girl with her whole life in front of her ? I hear you Job.
